i did post a question a while back about my best friend and her younger lover. He is 21 and she is 38.

They overcame the age gap and are still ,6months down the line absolutely crazy in love.infact ive never seen a couple so happy and in love.they just click and have so much respect for each other and the relationship is almost perfect.

they get a bit of stick and weird looks from certain people but have overcome it,to be honest they both look the same age as she looks so young.

people dont know the situation, they both had bereavements and a lot of pain ,and they have finally found happiness with each other.its a real life love story.

the happy ending may not happen though, because he recently told his parents who are in their early fifties and they wont accept my friend, she is devastated.they say he should be with girls his own age.they separated for a while and he had a few dates with girls his own age to please his parents, but they ended up back togther because it is genuine love.they cant live without each other.

my friend feels guilty now because there is a strain on his relationship with his parents especially his mother and it is affecting my friends relationship with her boyfriend.his parents say horrible things to and about my friend.

my friend is on the brink of letting him go because she doesnt want to come between him and his parents, but i think if they split up ,they'll both be really hury and never find anyone as compatible as they are.

they want to get married but his parents would hit the roof.should my friend split up with him to please his parents?is she wrong to dtae someone this young?

i believ love is ageless ,but i know the situation and im not sure how society would see this?id be interested to know your thoughts on what my friend should do,as im not sure how to advise her.she's in such a state, shes had to take time off work, because she doesnt want to break up with him.he doesnt want to break up with her either, but he wants a relationship with his parents.

  1. if they love each other they love each other, nobody else matters.

    age is just a number...love!

they need to realise that, if they're happy together then nobody else should enter their minds, its not a 3way in their relationship, a relationship is him and her, they're both in love thats what matters!

  2. tell her to go ahead to her relationship....parents are parents but they cant give the love and happiness what your friend feels, age doesn't matter,we all know that parents must respect, but how will you respect your parents if they won't respect you.i feel bad to this kind of parents!

  3. ok, I could not get past the first couple lines but if they truly love each other and there is no reason they should not be togather. ie one of them is already married or something.  Then they should both talk to whoever is important in their lives, like parents or children, that have a problem with it until they have responded to their concerns and then go on with their lives.
