He has a lot of crust and it runs all the time. They were putting antibiotic drops in it, but it doesn't seem to be getting better. He doesn't seem to have any objects in it. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

  1. Could be conjunctivitis.

    Check out this website:

    http://www.petplace.com/dogs/conjunctivi...

It has symptoms, causes, treatments, etc.

    Good luck.

  2. it could be eyesleep of just an irritant from the weather but i would take it to the vet and tell the vet that ur concerned and ur not sure wut is wrong...make sure to tell the vet the dogs diet daily life any meds the dog takes if wus recently rehabilitated....hop this helps

  3. it can be intropin  in ward growth of the eyelid any one of the 3, which causes irritation, it can be an infection which can be treated by topical treatment. it can be allergies do season or quality of food,  alot of the grocery dog foods arent really high quality premium as they say. they have alot of grains perservatives and fillers.  dogs arent cows they dont digest grains.    you should check out  brands liek,  timberwolf, nutro, canidae, taste of wild, chicken soup for pet lovers soul. they look and sound generic but they are  the REAL premuim dog food. they dont use fillers and all natural vitamin e to perserve the food.  iams and eukanuba and stuff says all natural but really arent.    when you switch over you will see a more vibrant shine in coat and they'll eat less because they'll absorb and take in all teh goods they need which means less clean up to take care of. its better in thelong run plus no allergies. any questions feel free to email me!

  4. it can be a few different things.

you will need a vet to look at the dogs eye.

its possible, the eyelids are turned in or out:the vet can take one look and see this.if the eyelids are turned in, it rubs the eye, and irritates it.

Other possibility:some type of skin problem?no need for eye drops, it can be just the eyelids that are infected?

    Go to a vet.

  5. If they haven't taken him to the vet, that would be the first step. If they did and they gave them the drops and it isn't working take him back in and let them know. It could be many things; an eye infection, an ulcer, or even entropian (which is when their eyelids curl in and make the eye lashes rub against the eye, very painful and bother some / annoying). So, in short, my recommendation is to take him to the vet and if the first one doesn't seem to know what they're doing, seek a second opinion.

  6. As it didn't respond to antibiotic drops, it is likely an eyelid growing inward. It could also be a damaged tearduct, but more likely the entropian.

A vet can quickly relieve the entropian, and save the eye. Otherwise, he may go blind in that eye, if not already. .

    Here is more about it>

  7. Have they taken the dog to the vet?  My dog's eyes are fairly crusty, I'm picking eye boogers out daily.  If the vet says it's normal the dog should be fine.  If not they should be able to come up with some solution.  For now, just keep picking 'em out!

  8. if its not sleep (the stuff u get when u wake up in the morning) then take him to the vet

  9. allergies, infection, irritation, entropian, and dry eye are all possible causes.
