  1. Put two tablespoons of mild dish soap in a spray bottle, this actually kills aphids by dehydrating them.  Also spray on any plants around your mint-like plant as well to make sure they aren't on anything else.  Mint plants grow very fast so it is prone to aphids.  Aphids usually like new growth the best.  If there are parts of the plants with too many aphids on it then trim some of the plant back,  it will slow them down and also the plant will stand a better chance of living.

  2. This works every time water in a spray bottle with a little squirt of dish soap then spray your plants, be sure to get the underside of the leaves.

  3. Buy some ladybugs and turn them loose. They thrive on aphids.

  4. APHIDS! I hate those things.  They love to gather around the underside of new growth and sap the living juices out of buds

But they are easy to control.  If you want the organic and cheap way, just take a garden hose and turn the hose to hard spray and blast the boogers off the plant.  You should hold each bud tip in your hand so that you don't damage the bud from the blast.

This may require several blastings.  If ants are visible they are after the honeydew the aphids make after sapping plant juices.
