Okay, I went camping for 1 night with them. It was horrible! They had a little cabin thing. When it was time she shower, her mom to my friend, her sister (4 and 7) and I up to them. The showers were similar to a locker room. The had maybe 4 shower heads, but no stalls or anything. Her mom went in with the kids, and got them and herself dressed. Then she went outside brought the kids to her her husband. She had to sit in their and wait for us to finish because she didn't want "something to happen" while we were showering. Is this normal?

  1. My friends parents are also too over protective. We r 15 and they have to ask their parents EVERYTHING, its really annoying and if we r out and they are always on the phone to their parents. I guess some parents worry to much because of the media over exaggerating.

  2. Yeah.

    I guess.

My parents are over protective as well.

    But yeah.

Its normal. She just wanted you guys to be safe.

  3. she just doesnt want anything bad happening to them!

  4. Yeah, a lot of parents are like that.

When they watch the news & everything, they see stories about horrible stuff, and such bad things come to their minds on what can happen.

The worst can always be in their minds, on what can happen to their children.

They're your friends parents you say, so she probably felt extra-responsibly because you're not her child, so she had to make sure you were safe, what would she tell your parents if somthing should happen to you?

They're parents, they just want to make sure you're safe. It's their job

    :)

  5. Yes!! this is very normal. when you are in a public place like that, you never know who might come in. there are a lot of really bad people in the world and anyone could have been hiding somewhere waiting for the adults to leave so they could kidnap a child.

She was doing what good parents should do. Making sure the children in her care were safe. It would be wrong if she had left you there.

One day when you have your first child, or even before then, you will realize that you will do the same thing in her place. :)

  6. Overprotective is one word.

Yeah, it's just crazy that she would want to protect you and watch out for freaks while you're in there naked. WOW. It would be much better if she didn't give a flying c**p and some guy came in there, right?

Get a firmer grip on what protection is, and you may appreciate it.

  7. Of course that's normal. You were in a public shower. Any ole creep could have walked into there and did lord knows what to you girls. Be thankful that she gives a c**p about you and her daughter.

  8. yea

    the kids are young

she doesnt want anything to happen to them

  9. If the kids are 7 and aspesh 4 yeah...its normal to be protective!

  10. A bit over the top if you ask me, but she definitely knows for sure that nothing will happen to you now.

Don't worry, some parents are more protective than others, and there's nothing that can be done about that.

Next time, you could say something like "Miss ..., we'll be alright. Promise." or something like that to convince her.

  11. its a little wierd but thats nothing to stories i have with my firneds
