My friends selling me a moped and he cant find the key to it. if the key is lost, what am i supposed to do.?

im getting it for a great price so i dont wanna give up. but the moped is from, like overseas, and we might not find the keys. what are we supposed to do.

  1. You can start by finding the "?" key.


  2. Assuming that the friend is honest and you are not buying a stolen moped, you have two choices. You can either replace the ignition lock cylinder or you can take the moped to a locksmith and have them cut a key to fit.

    The key switch on a moped is usually a simple two pole (on or off) switch, which is not that hard to replace.

  3. Are you sure he didnt like steal it? some things you can bypass the ignition but i dont know how..

  4. Have a locksmith fit it for a new key.

  5. If it has a chip in it.  $250 at the dealer.   Show proof you really own it and didn't steal it.   $50 if it doesn't have a computer chip.  You didn't tell us what year it was.
