and asked them for a passport. They were traveling from Los Angeles to Vegas. They only had their California ID but they dint take it. They wanted an actual passport. I thought you dint need a passport to travel within the US? So they did a full background check to see if they were not lying. This would of pissed me off, they lost HOURS!! It was a couple of them so it took a while before they let em go. So know I'm scared to go to Vegas without a passport. What if I get pulled over and then they make loose TIME, since its very valuable cause I only get the weekends off(I work).

Have you gone to Vegas and been pulled over? Or you have never been pulled over by immigration?

I have never been there(or anywhere else :|), I want to go for my BF's birthday.

By the way I'm hispanic and so where my friends.. I think that has something to do with it.....

  1. Sounds alot like racial profiling to me.

  2. Going from San Diego to Phoenix is a check point.

I am white, 58, grey hair and blue eyes.

A young Hispanic Border patrol officers always gets cute with me.

So, one day I had enough of his smart *** and pulled in.

As an American with 3 tours of combat under my belt, I talked the officer in charge and put an end to his BS.

Yes, hate to say it but being hispanic was part of it.

The illegals make the American Hispanic and legal Mexicans look bad and cause problems for your race.

Until our goverment steps up to the plate, this race issue will go on.

    Do I agree? No.

You should always carry ID. In vegas they will lock you up till they can find out who you are.

Driving with no ID? No drivers license is against the law.

Lucky the car did not get towed, which they will do in Vegas.

  3. ewwwww I would be so mad. No you don't need a passport and that's racial profiling right there.

  4. I have never been pulled over.

    It sounds racial to me.

It would be different to be stopped by cops

but to be stopped by immigration is another story

  5. Yep, that has something to do with it. They passed a law here locally that if you get stopped for anything they check to see if you are here legally, if not INS is called to pick you up and deport you on the spot. And the cops keep your vehicle :o)

  6. truthfully, if you or your friends don't have anything to hide, big deal. people get pulled over all the time. not just hispanics.

  7. There's something more to this story than is being told because there's no way it happened the way you described.

  8. I don't think your friends are telling the whole story.  They are leaving a lot out here, it's obvious. Nothing adds up.  Sorry, but I'm not buying it.

  9. i ask your friends if they remember the county or the officers name or even badge number... it seems like it was a case of extreme discrimination... i would file a complaint!!! or go even further and sue them for discrimination!!!! your story really disgust me and for a short answer no you don't need a passport!

  10. When ANYONE is pulled over by the cops, they are asked for their information regardless of 'race', age, gender, etc. Maybe they were rude to them  because they  immediately took on the 'VICTIM' and 'RACIAL PROFILING' attitude and were being rude to them?!?! Chances are...the cop that pulled them over was not even Caucasian? Maybe Hispanic...Bi-Racial?

At any rate,if your friends had a case ,whitch is doubtful, would depend somewhat whether they were issued any type of citation or not after they were pulled over?

  11. They must be pulled over by homeland security. After 9/11, anything is possible. They looked for profiles.

  12. Someone is leaving part of the story out.  It's too costly for immigration to randomly stop people and ask for ID.   Especially since there is a lot easier way to catch illegal immigrants.    I would have your friends complain to the Las vegas police and mayors office.  Las Vegas would not take kindly to the Feds scaring off their customers.

Also there is a scam going around in Los Angeles.   Thieves drive around pretending to be police or immigration, demanding bribes.

  13. Perhaps the police received a report of a couple of illegal criminal alien invaders were on such and such road on their way to Las Vegas.  They were doing their job in pulling over the vehicle and checking out the report.

Ease up.  If all officers did this, we would eventually have all the illegals deported.  They were only doing their job.
