  1. HIV tests detect antibodies to the HIV virus. The human body starts to produce these antibodies in as little as six weeks in healthy individuals. In people who have suppressed immune systems or are otherwise unhealthy, the time between exposure and antibody production can be much greater. The medical standard in the US after a possible exposure is to test at the time of exposure (for a baseline result), a 6 months, and again at 1 year. If your friend is testing negative at 5 months, chances are that he did NOT contract HIV.

Even if he did contract the virus, he would not be developing symptoms this soon. So the presence of symptoms is not indicative of exposure. Relax, and don't let your imagination get the better of you.

  2. First of all, could you please type in regular english from now on? That was VERY hard to read and took a few extra minutes than it should have :(

Anyway, he can test again in a few months to be sure. When you are nervous or stressed you tend to get symptoms for things you dont even have. The fact that he's nervous about it is probably causing them. He could even just have a regular cold. Stress has been known to cause rashes and stuff though.

  3. I refuse to answer someone who can't even take the time to type properly.
