My front door lock clicks at 11:50 every night, is this unusual?

It doesn't allow for summer time, always echoes reliably and over three years we've filmed it from outside & indoors. The latch doesn't move, but it sounds. Has anyone else had this happen with a mechanical door lock?

{It used to be a Hallowe'en joke, but we all take it for granted now. I say "Hey, it's getting late, the timer clicked," and my friends respond with "I guess I should hang up now, we've been talking for over an hour"}

I'd have a locksmith look at it.  I doubt he'll come at 11:50 at night, but he just might if he's curious enough.  But yes, it does sound highly unusual and very scary!  I live alone and if my lock did that it would be gone in a second!. (Not that I'm a scaredy cat or anything.)

Are your parents alive?  If not, then it is their ghost reminding you that's it time to go to bed.  My linen closet has a magnetic closure on it and it clicks whenever someone closes it.,  The thing is, no one is in the house but me.

It could be your protective spirit making sure you locked the door by reminding you to lock it.

Probably just the lock fully engaging. May not lock all the way and then clicks.
