I have an 08 Chrysler Town and Country LX 3.3L engine. In my fuel gauge, after passing the 1/4 line, it will start to move faster. I don't know why. Can anyone explain this? Is there something wrong?

  1. Geometry of the design of the float arm and sending unit.

Many vehicles do this, and it is simply because of the bend in the float arm and the relation of the position of the arm versus the amount of fuel.

That is the actual reason. There isn't any conspiracy.

  2. Its complete deceit, but not false advertising.

Most of the fuel guage is set as a longer stretch then the end, thus simulating that its guzzling less gas than it actually is.

The units it shows reduce toward the end......sneaky...huh.....

Printing units on the fuel dial will actually stop this...but they dont to trick people...
