My 3 1/2 year old son was fully potty trained with a few accidents here and there is now not using the potty at all just peeing in his pants. The only time I let him wear a pull up is at night. Now we are going underwear all the time no matter what. What could be causing this. There has been no change in enviroment, husband and i are not fighting. The only thing different is we are trying to potty train my 2 yr old daughter? Any suggestions?

  1. This is very normal.  Some times when they start potting it's exiting to them. then the excitement where's off.  It also could be change in his schedule.  My daughter did really good on the potty until I switched from pull-ups to underwear.

         Good Luck

  2. Sure it could be a grab for attention but for my kids I focused on making them comfortable and being able to get to the toilet on their own.  I researched and found a very sturdy stool with sides for the toilet so my kids could use the toilet all by themselves.  http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Child-Corpor...

This stool made them completely relaxed and they loved being independent.  It really made all the difference and was well worth it.  Hope this helps.

  3. It could be because you are potty training your other child. He may want the or resent the attention she is getting.

  4. Same thing is happening to us with both boys in same age range. So we started back with giving small cookies and stickers for going to the potty. Our 3 year old now has gotten back on track but will still want the attention of being "changed."

  5. My 2.5 year old son has been potty trained for about 6 months or so and he only had maybe 3 or 4 accident he doesnt wear pullups at nite or anything, but about 3 weeks ago he started peeing on himself all the time. so i took him to the dr, just to check, and as it turns out he had a UTI infection. Maybe u should take him to the dr. better safe than sorry. after my son finished his meds he hasnt had anymore accidents. good luck :)

  6. I say let  him wear them and after some time he will see that your 2 year old is using the potty and want to too.

  7. The only thing I can think of is maybe you started to train him too early.  You should potty train your child when they start to go to the bathroom on a regular schedule.  Also they will start to be interested in the toilet.
