How can it be changed back to natural gas? was it for natural before and THEN converted? it looks rather new where the sticker is, the furnace itself is OLD, like 1954 or something.

  1. yes, this more than likely was natural gas thus being converted to lp..... the sticker is an identification pf the conversion - yes, it can be switched back to natural gas, i would strongly recommend a proffessional for adjustments and parts interchange will need to be made....

  2. I actually converted my dad's systems from NG to LP. This is easily done by either swapping and/or reconfiguring the orifices at varies locations within the units. Being that your dealing with gas (the boom theory applies), I highly recommend you contact the manufacture or supplier of the furnace, for instructions and/or conversion kits. I also recommend the individual that does the change, thoroughly read the instructions (as you know most people just like looking at the pictures).

    Good Luck

  3. The best trick is to get a gas fitter/plumber to convert it back for you.

The only difference between Liquid Petroleum gas and Natural gas burners in stoves or furnaces or any appliances are the size of the burner tips.

I could be corrected but I seam to remember that LPG nozzles are finer.

It is not a big job and will not take long however I don't know what part of the world you are in and we all know how hard it is to get a plumber to do a house call.

Give a furnace or boiler company a call and see if they can give you the name of someone they recommend in your area.

    Hope that helps.

  4. All that is require is a new o*****e. Looks like yours was for natural gas originally and was converted to LP with a new o*****e. Possibly the old one is still there somewhere.

The difference is a different sized hole is all.

If you aren't handy a furnace man can do it for you. If you wish to convert it back to natural my first call would be to your gas company. They may do it for free for you.
