My fuschia plant is not blooming??

We recently changed the soil (Miracle grow) and pot. We started using plant food too. Will this help??

  1. just give it time. sometimes they take longer (expecially with global warming) to bloom.


  2. If you are giving it too much nitrogen in the fertilizer, it will makes more leaves and less flowers.  Make sure your fertilizer is for flowering plants.  For instance, it should read 3-5-7 instead of 5-3-3.  (Nitrogen is always the first one listed, then Phosphate, then Potash).  So you want the first number smaller than the second and third numbers.

  3. Fushia loves shade. Maybe it is getting too much sun.

  4. Mine are really slow to bloom too, but once they get going, they keep going.  Give it time.  They do like food, so now that you're feeding it, so long as you're keeping it watered and giving it enough shade, it should bloom for you.

  5. Usually plants won't bloom without fertilizer.

    New soil will give it new nutrients too.
