I am a bit annoyed that itis such a pain to set up as I must download

a piece of software from Apple to use the device which means I must

register on i tunes to obtain this download and pay for the privelage

I think the device cost her about £ 130 or so she also got me a nice

leather case to match I think after spending so much money on this

that having to pay more to use the thing is a liberty to say the least !

she is obviously very upset that her lovely gift is causing me

problems in trying to use the device one of my pals told me to put it

on E bay and sell the thing ! Problem is that I want the thing and do

not want to upset my G/F has anybody else felt this way after

spending so much on the device then having to pay more money to

actually use the thing I even have to pay for a users manual download

or is there another way of using it ? your help would be very helpfull

if there is a less P*SS taking way of using the lovely device ! thanks

maybe

  1. That's such a thoughtful gift! Please don't sell it. iPods are great, it might take you a while to get to terms with it, but it's a fantastic device that I couldn't go without.

  2. What software do you need. Just download itunes(free) and it will sync with it

  3. Your best bet is to spend the money for the manual, and whatever else it takes to get it up and running....

whatever you do, don't sell it.... it's a gf gift, you think she's upset now...

  4. i swear u dont pay. just download itunes!

just download this and your all sorted. get your music from "cough" *limewire*

  5. wow, your gf goes and does something really nice and all you do is complain. I think you need to think how you would feel if she had brought you nothing!

Bottom line is somebody who cares about you sat down and thought about what she could buy you, she then went and spend a considerable amount of money on the present. Just enjoy it!

I am very confused why you have to download anything. ipods come with a disk that installs itunes on your computer without paying for anything other than the songs if you buy them online, if you download them elsewhere or put them on from CD it is free.

It should only cost to BUY music, songs, dvds or rent films.

  6. I would not use limewire, just put your CD's on iTunes.

LW is cheating the law, and dishonest. Plus, there are a ton of viruses on LW.

There is a disc with your iPod to install iTunes, and if it is scratched, go to itunes.com and download it for free

  7. do it my way and say you used it on the way to work or while doing something she dosent see you doing.your not really using it.

  8. to download itune si FREE!

you only register to the itunes store IF you want to buy music. if you import music from CD's then that's nothing too.

with iTunes store each track is only 79p or albums 4.99 or 7.99 so its cheaper than HMV for the same music.

what is the issue here its an IPod and it needs to work with itunes as itunes is the Master music organiser that you make playlists for the ipod.  its like buying a computer but refusing to plug it in to the mains as thats not included in the box. the 2 work together as a team the reason you have to download itunes is to ensure you get the correct and latest version for your computer.

Sony and Microsof do the same thing with their walkmans and the Zune now.

you buy the player then download the latest version of the music manger.
