  1. Do you have any tape?

  2. option 1 check out places like home depot or lowes you can get the supplies there

option 2 look in a yellow book

option 3 take down everything that is needed to operate to open the garage door nd try 2 get a friend or brother or someone you who has good hands and try to rebuild it

  3. We probably ought to define what you mean by the garage chain.  Are we talking about the chain that runs the garage door opener up and down or is there a chain that is connected to the door and the springs, which.    If it's the chain on the garage door opener, then anyone who's ever fixed a chain on a bicycle could probably fix it.  Most likely just needs a new master link.  If it's a chain connected to the door itself and the springs used to raise and lower the door, then you need a professional overhead door company.

  4. It should not be a difficult repair..any handy man worth his salt should be able to fix it.....

  5. if you are talking about an older door with those huge springs, by all means call a garage door specialist.  those things can be extremely dangerous to put up.  the right guys have the right tools to do it quickly and safely.

    good luck...gary

  6. Look in the yellow pages under garage door repair.

  7. Get a garage door company to do the repair.  A handyman can probably take care of your problem but a garage door technician will know exactly where to lubricate your door, and know exactly how it should be balanced.  A garage door operator is only designed to open and close an object, not carry ANY of the weight of the door. If that chain broke there might be another problem that needs adjusting.  A garage door company will also know if your operator's manufacturer will warranty that part.  Good luck!

  8. I would say no there are specific companys that fix garage doors and that is all they do.  My father in law happens to do it for a living.  Most of them have on-call 24 hour service if it is an emergency.  If it is past normal hours it will cost double.  Good Luck
