  1. call the exterminator?

    get an anteater?

  2. I wish the only thing I had to worry about was ants!

Just leave them alone for goodness sake. It's bad karma to kill them. What goes around comes around.

Ehmmmmmm yeah! glad you tried the enviromentally friendly approach of pouring bleach on them!!! that'll be good for the garden.

  3. Ant bait traps the workers take this sweet tasting poison back to the queen and it  will kill all them off, antpowder acts more as a barrier ants will not cross over it.

  4. don't kill 'em !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

there harmless little creatures... how would you like it if some massive giant humungus being threw poison all over you!!!!!!!

  5. My garden is EXACTLY the same, and i have JUST asked this question myself, i was told to pour petrol into the holes, and then set fire to it...i thought it was a stupid idea when i was told, but i gave it a go...and hey presto...no ants...its absoloutly fantastic, it burns the nest, you have to give it a min to soak in, it does obviously burn patches in your grass, but i put some seed on mine.

Try it under your slabs..just lift up the efected slabs and do it on those, try really hard to pour it down the holes.

  6. Distilled white vinegar will work - they hate it! Salt works best on slugs(but it kills them) and warm water and washing up liquid works on greenfly

  7. Don't kill them. They are good for the garden

  8. same with us, we just leave a jar of honey in the front garden, it gets them out of the back garden and they get stuck and drown, they can't resist the temptation trust me :P

Erm and then after that just keep putting poisen down eventually they leave

  9. Nippon Ant Killer. It comes in a small tube. Place a drop onto

a piece of wood and leave it near the ants

  10. Vanilla also works.  Not artificial, but real.  We leave it on sticks around the house and it repels ants.  I have no idea why, but it definitely works!  So if you don't want to use chemicals or risk burning your yard, try vanilla!

  11. HI, TONS OF SEA SALT ON THE AFFECTED AREA OR MOUND USUALLY WORKS, LEAVE FOR A FEW HOURS EVEN OVERNIGHT, SOMETIMES NEEDS DOING A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT GETS IT DONE IN THE END.. ALSO THE PETROL ANSWER IS TOTALLY ANOTHER GREAT OPTION, BUT THIS ONE IS MORE EARTH FRIENDLY.. NOT TO THE ANTS MIND BUT TO ALL AROUND YOU..HOPE THIS HELPS. BY THE WAY YOU CAN GET THE SEA SALT IN ANY SUPERMARKET ..

  12. i live in the country side and theres hundreds of ants, what i've found is to get a jug of boiling water/kettle and fairy washing up liquid and pour it over the nests it shouldn't come back also a jar of honey with clingfilm over the top with a slit cut in it so when they get in they get trapped this also works with wasps

  13. What's wrong with ants? Unless it's an infestation in which case call in an expert but otherwise they're fine. I have them, they don't bother me.

  14. We had a exactly the same problem at our front porch today.  My husband told me to pour boiled water from the kettle (2 kettle-ful amount) into the holes where ants were coming out.  I haven't seen them since then but he suggested to do the same tomorrow too to make sure they're gone!  He said same thing happened last year and got rid of them this way!

  15. I have the same problem and they are invading my house too. I have found ants in the dishwasher and dustbin and can't even leave a crumb lying around because in the morning I'll have a trail of ants all the way to it.

I've tried all the natural stuff as I feel a bit concerned about putting a powder that will kill ants in my house in case it is toxic.

I tried a trick that worked for a bit which is to boil garlic and chilli in some water for 30 minutes and then put it in a spray bottle and spray the holes when it cools down.

This managed to keep them away from some areas but the problem remains that if you kill all the workers, the queen just produces more so it's all useless unless you get the nest.

If you can see where the nest is, you can probably just get a bit of cement or polyfiller and block it off.

This worked for my inlaws. (I haven't found the nest yet).

I've also heard that Borax works but I haven't yet been able to find it.

Apparently it is a poison that attracts the worker ants and they bring it back to their nest for food.

They then feed it to the queen and she dies and is not able to reproduce any more workers so eventually they die off.

Their life span is only about 3 months but an individual ant cannot live for more than a day on its own so if you kill the queen and then manage to disperse the rest, you should have got rid of your problem in very little time.

    good luck

  16. try salt on them , if i here anything will let you now

  17. keep trying ant powder

  18. You could try the artificial sweetener "Aspartame" (as used in slimmers soft drinks) - it was developed as an ant poison, I believe.  Because it is sweet, the ants take it back to the nest and feed it to their Queen!  Good-bye Queenie!!

  19. have heard either baby powder sprinkled around or peppermint sprayed around the ground, don't know how useful these products are but surely worth a shot, good luck x
