well i bought a garmin streetpilot a month or 2 ago

then, i had to go to a royal albert's or something (forgot the name)

well the gps took me a mile away and said that i was here

i had to get directions from a gas station who pointed me to the right way.

why the h**l did it do that?

pretty much everythign else i put in worked properly

oh and the royal albert's palace had an address which the gps did not know about

the invitation i got had the address, but the gps had it listed only under a street name and city and stuff, no street number

is there a way to upgrade my gps? i have it hooked up to the usb port and was wondering maybe there is a way to download something for it???

oh and how do u get new chips for it- my gps can only work in north america, how can i get it to work in asia or somewhere else?

btw, i'm asking this for my parents

  1. if you want a upgrade for 2008 version map, it'll cost like 50 dollars. call the garmin comany for help.

  2. I don't think your problem has to do with the updating the map. Your example was probably an anomaly by a bad database entry, missing North or South street designator, etc. In any case, if you only bought it 2 months ago you can still use the one free ugprade that comes with the C550. The activation code is in the breakseal pouch that comes in the box.
