My gas pump on my boat was working but now its not, can i use any universal fuel pump?

If it's an electric, go ahead.  Make sure it flows enough GPM and has enough PSI.  If it's mechanical, you're better off getting a replacement.

here is my best answer.... if the fuel pump goes out in your car, would you use any old pump? always use the suggested equipment....
