Question:

My gearbox selector cable has snapped how much will it cost?

The cable snapped last week whilst camping. My partner was able to manually put my car into drive for me and I have got it home. However I phoned my local dealership this morning for a price of a new cable to be told it was almost £200 plus vat does anyone know if this is right or if I can get one cheaper anywhere else? This seems excessive to me as its only a 4 foot long cable!

Thanks in advance!

  1. Not sure if this is made on the aftermarket. You can always get a used one from a salvage yard.
