My gerbil's friend just died (they lived in the same cage)?

and shes very lonely and my friend's gerbil's friend (they lived in the same cage too) just died and one of her mom's friends gave her a gerbil and now they live together, do you think we could put all three gerbils in the same cage so my gerbil wouldnt be lonely anymore?

yea as long as there is one male or less. they will fight if there is more than one male.

you can but dont rush it doit slowly and they will get on fine

I wouldn't because your friend's 2 gerbils are already an established "clan" and chances are they don't want any intruders even when properly introduced. if I were you I would get one gerbil that's a little younger than yours, same gender, and then use the split-cage method to introduce them. Males are easier to introduce than females.

you can only real put one on one gerbils together other wise one if not all gerbil could died from frighting

it be best to get the one gerbil a NEW friend and put them together using a split cage (don't ask just google)

there's a possibility that it could work so long as they're all females, try it out for a bit but if they don't get along then you could buy another female to put in your cage to keep her company.
