I don't know if he was shaking out of fear, but after a week long vacation I got home and he didn't open his eyes for maybe minutes. Now, hes walking around, very slowly and I think he may be blind because he's not noticing anything around him. Anyone know whats wrong?

  1. Act like you are going to flick it in the face and if it does not move then it probably cant see it (don't actually flick it).

  2. Hey I'm the asker of this question just on my moms account logged in, (its easier than logging into mine so whatever). But yeah my father had to come to and from work so he fed him, his water was fresh and full and he would have been a year old this October. Unfortunately, he passed last night but thank you all who tried to help.

  3. Next time, get a cat...

  4. Alright, I know this will sound stupid and rude, but with some of the people that post here, I have to ask.

Was someone watching him, or was he left on his own?

Is the water bottle full and flowing right?

How old is he? Gerbils will only live two or three years on average, so he may well be going blind.

He should see a vet, if at all possible.

Try and keep him warm and with plenty of food and easily accessible water.
