hi,

i got my gerbils a few weeks ago, i dont know how old they are and what gender they are. i have been hearing some squeeks coming from their cage but i know it isn't them, as soon as they hear it they go running to their bed and when it has stopped one stays in their bed and the other one comes out. Every time i put my hand in the cage they run to their bed like they are protecting something. I can't clean their cage out becuase they bite me every time i go near them or their bed. what do you think it is? please help

  1. http://www.gerbilbreeding.com/sexing.htm

    s*x them

were cloves and take the gerbil out and look at the nest don't worry if you find pups just count them mom will still look after them.

went the  pups open there eyes than take the male out or get his man hood remove. if you have pup them there more on the way,

don't put them back together if the dad nuts or still working!

  2. Since you do not know their gender, it is possible that you have a male and female who have had babies.  If they did, I would not recommend trying to clean out their cage. Just keep checking on them periodically and see if you can get a look at their bed to see if there are babies in there. If you can't see and if they really did have babies, you will be able to see them in a couple weeks when they come out of the bed area and wonder around the cage.

  3. Aww! They are either just not used to you or you have babies congrats!

  4. Oh, you should contact the pet-shop owner and enquire as to how old they both are, along with their gender. There's a possibility that they are both male and female and have given birth to lots of little babies after mating. They seem to be very protective over their newborns and are biting your fingers and hands because they can sense danger (they think that you are trying to separate or kill their babies.) My suggestions are, put on some tough gardening gloves so when they bite you, it doesn't hurt and remove their bedding and clean their cage. There may be a huddle of little baby gerbils waiting there and they're probably very weak because their food source is lacking. Please be careful and gentle when cleaning their cage, and do consider the possibility that they may have eaten some of their babies (many animals do that, but I don't think gerbils do.) Get a parent to help you, too! I'm no expert but I hope I've helped you! All the best.

  5. They probably had baby's so just wait about  a week and then if they did have baby's they would probably come out by then but if not where gloves and clean out there cage.
