  1. Erm well at my school you need to get at least a C to pass x

  2. Children are not allowed to fail or lose anymore, this is just another example!

When I went to school A-C were passes D-F fails.

  3. it is a pass. the only fail is a U (unclassified)

In reality, employers and institutions look for grades A-C anything less is pretty much worthless

  4. bit of a fibber there.

  5. Its a pass so is an E. However A to C's really count!

  6. sorry, but he's lying a C is a pass! i know 100% because my brothers just got his results!

  7. A-C is a pass, anything below that isn't. Quite a few colleges accept Ds as passes though, but perhaps not in Science, Maths or English.

  8. Hes telling the truth D is a pass grade

  9. Technically grades A* - G are passes, however, most colleges ask for atleast 5 A* - C grades to beable to do A level courses.

  10. a b c is counted as a pass technically the school will say all grades are a pass, so the pupil will not feel bad

  11. No, he's a cretin.

  12. your right a C is an average he didnt pass

    sorry

  13. its a pass atleast he got marked....

    please answer would really help.

  14. big fat liar.

    D is a fail.

  15. Wow there are some nasty people out there. He is not lying, anything from A to G is a pass. He did well bless him, so stop doubting him and congratulate him. We can't all be Einstein!

    M

    xx

  16. C is out right pass. As long as you haven't got a u which is ungraded it is classed as a pass but only just!!

  17. anything higher than a U grade is technically a pass.

  18. In terms of a school most recognise C as a pass grade, where as actual passes go down to E, anything below that is failed

  19. In the REAL world gcse,s are not worth the paper they are wrote on.

  20. yes anything graded is a pass although a 'c' and above is classed as a good pass. d,e,f pass but it would state 'u' if ungraded .... and never run down any1 whos had to sit exams ev1 performs diff and tell him well done for getting that many results

  21. Nope, you can be on life support and still pass. Do not forget it does not matter how well you do in the English educational system but what matters is the fact that you showed up. So if you show up it is almost impossible to fail. What do you expect with a 98% pass rate?

  22. In the modern education system everyone has to pass, so anything grade G or above is a classed as a pass, but employers usually require a pass at grade C or above.

  23. Why does everyone think only a C is a pass?

a C grade is a GOOD pass, employers would be pleased with that, a D is still a pass, not so good but grades A-G are passes.

    I would be pleased

  24. It's classed as a pass, however he will be hard pressed to be able to do anything with it. In order to do any decent further qualifications he'll need to resit.

  25. A grade to G is a pass. Grade C  and above is a good pass.

He is telling the truth. And never put anyone down for not being clever enough to get high exam grades (I know you weren't but some do).

  26. Don't know why so many people here are saying D is a fail, when they clearly are wrong.

Anything from A-G is a pass!

so he has got 7Ds, meaning 7 passes, but college and sixth form look for five A-Cs and then you can take A levels; otherwise you will have to spend extra year improving your Gcse results in my opinion, if you want to do A levels!

  27. c is average but a pass is anything from a to e. With F being a fail and u being unclassified. though with 7 d's i wouldn't think hes got much to sing about.

  28. well it depends- if it's a higher paper, then it's a fail, if it's a foundation level, then it could barely be a pass, that's how my school is going to do it. But it would look like he is lying, sorry! xx

  29. it is a pass technically but the goverement mainly look at a-c grades but he is telling the truth it is a pass, if this is the best he can do and has tried his best then congratulate him

    =]

  30. D is a pass grade as some have stated. A-E are passes with F being fail. The confusion over C being a pass is probably because applications for most courses at college require a minimum amount of C grades at G.C.S.E. and some jobs also require you to have a C grade in English Lan, Maths and Science

  31. Anything above a "U" grade is a pass. The grades go from A* - G. He has passed 7 GCSE's just not with flying colours. They will remain on his record for the rest of his life.

The government ask for 3 A*-C , 4 A*-C and 5 A* - C grades to further your education whether it be college or 6th form.

He should be alright :) Don't worry he's not lying.
