My girlfriend is on the pill, is a condom necessary?

I'm not worried about STD's, I'm worried about pregnancy.

And I would really like to share a condom-less experience with her.

  1. the pill does not protect you from stds

and who is to say she is taking them correctly?

it is your responsibility to do your part. you never know she might be one of those girls who wants a baby as a fashion accessory, but is not telling you. just wrap it up to be safe.

  2. the pill is 99% effective. so if she doesn't want to take the 1% chance of getting pregnant you could use a condom. and the pill doesn't protect against STD's

  3. Yes. The pill will prevent pregnancy, but it doesn't do a thing for STDs.

    Good luck!

  4. I understand how you feel... I myself do not like it when my husband used condoms... BUT when we got to the stage of wanting children, we never used condoms again.

Every woman's body is different with the pill. I cannot have it, as it ruins my chances of fertility... whereas my sister was on the pill- took it every day at the same time.. and she now has a 7 year old son because her partner didnt like condoms.

Despite her not wanting children then.. she is so happy she has her son now and would never change him for the world.

Talk to your partner about this issue, and your doctor/ her doctor. A great s*x life is still important in relationships!

  5. just because your girlfriend is on the pill doesn't mean you don't have to wear a condom, you wear a condom to keep your d**k from falling off. In other words you should wear it to protect yourself from any STD.

  6. I'm sure you love your girlfriend but you should be just as worried about STDs as you are about pregnancy.  A "condom-less" experience is nice but, once you get married, you have the rest of your life to enjoy that experience.  Also, I have more than 10 friends who got pregnant on the pill.  Everyone doesn't take the right prescription or take the pill like they should.  Condoms aren't that bad.  Things could be worse.  You could be missing out on s*x completely.  At least you're getting some.

  7. always protect yourself

  8. The pill prevents pregnancy.

Condoms help prevent pregnancy but also act as a barrier to prevent the spread of HIVa nd STD's.

It depends on what your priorities are.

  9. if you have s*x it is. neither one of those are 100% effective so theres still a very small chance she can still get pregnant. but your choice...

  10. Be EXTRA protective to avoid pregnancy...

  11. if you trust her enough to take the pill every day and not forget, lol then yes she protected against pregnancy at about 99 percentage.  but this will not protect her against any STD's

  12. I did not use protection with my first boyfriend [just the pill] because we were each others firsts.

Using the condom will also just lessen the chances. It is possible to get pregnant on birth control, it does happen. Condoms are always the best way to go.

  13. Yes.  The pill does not prevent disease.  And if she misses a pill or doesn't take them properly, she could end up pregnant.  Also, some girls lie about taking the pill to purposely get pregnant to "trap" boys or just cuz they want a baby really bad.  Always protect yourself, always wear a condom, or you may regret it later on.

  14. if she takes it daily at the same time and has been for at least 4wks you are fine to share a condomless experience with her. I would still wear one though, as you can't trust anyone now a days. getting prego with the pill is 99% chance she won't, but can you take that 1% chance?

  15. Birth control isnt 100%. I was on the pill never missed one took it everyday. Now Im the proud new mommy of a 4 week old little boy. We didnt use condoms with the pill either thinking its was good enough! If you dont use a condom you will take the chance of getting pregnant.
