  1. Pray for 2 things, 1:  she has gap insurance 2. It gets stolen and never found.

Sorry but other than fixing it, that's all i can come up with.  If she didn't buy a warranty, she screwed.

  2. how long as she has it? is there or was there any sort of warenty with it?  Has she gone to Car Fax and done a history on the car? it will tell her any accidents and repairs done at dealerships.

Also.. has this been a on going problem?  has she takening in for repair on the engine repeatedly during the time she had it?  If so she might be able to invoke the Lemon law and force the dealership to help her.

Then again there is always the way a woman up in MD got the dealership to  help her.  The car she purchased died within 3 months of her getting it.  the dealership told her sorry.. Oh and by the way you owe too much still to get something else.   So.. she went across the street with a Huge piece of plywood that said  " I got this car at Keene, ask me about their lemons" .  She sat in a convinence store parking lot, kept buying sodas and things so they didnt ask her to move.  2 hours latter she was leaving in a new car from the dealership

  3. Why doesn't she pay to have the car fixed.  Repairs and maintenance are all part of owning a car.

Trading it in and losing $8800 is not an option.  Get an estimate for the repairs and either save up or borrow the money to get the car fixed.

  4. I'm sorry, I have to ask.

What make/model/year is the car? I'm just dying to know what car could've been worth $200 and had someone pay $10K.

    Something's missing here...
