My girlfriend may become my step sister, need advice.

I have been dating my girlfriend for the last year and a half, but recently my widowed father has been dating her mother. They are talking about getting married, but that would mean that my girlfriend would become my step sister! How do we deal with this? We were dating before all this started, but I don't want people to get strange ideas. My father and her mother are so happy now after being single for so long, and I do not want to ruin their happines, but I also do not want to lose my girlfriend.

well it does seem kind of weird but since you both started dating before everything with your parents its not gross or anything like that. but after you and your girlfriend start living together as a family you will probably start feeling like brother and sister and you might get to know her to well where you wouldnt want to go out anymore. dont break up with her just because of this but maybe talk to her about it and see what she thinks. my friend and her best friends parents got married and now their brother and sisters and they get kind of annoyed with each other after getting to know each other so well by being family but it could work out for you and your girlfriend

Do your parents know that you are dating? If so, how are they planning on keeping you guys from having s*x 24/7 at home? Ha. Sorry, that is just where my mind goes.

Anyways, I dunno how old you are, but assuming that you are a teenager, just keep going out with her, but know that you may break up at some point in the future. If this happens, make sure that you make the breakup go smoothly. Ew. actually..now that I am really thinking about this, I think you should break up now. What happens when you break up and get a new girlfriend or she gets a new boyfriend? Will you all sit around and have a "meet my family dinner" Will you tell your next girlfriend, this is my dad and my step mom and my sister/exgirlfriend. Weird. I don't think many people will be comfratable with that. I would say talk openly with everyone about this. (both your dad, her mom and her) and see what everyone think about all this. If you are older than a teenager, get married to her so you can say that you were husband and wife first and then your parents got married.

Anyway, she wasn't your sister when you first started dating, and if your parents are married, papers won't make her your sister now.
