My girlfriend was working with the bank to catch up on her mortage payments, and she was hit with lawyer fees?

The counselor that she was working with basically blew her off when she was trying to contact him via email. Then all of a sudden her case was transferred to the foreclosure office and was told that she now has to pay approximately $3K-$5K in lawyer fees in addition to the $4000 that she now owes. The kicker is she has the money to pay the $4000 now, but was blindsided by the lawyer fees. Is there anyway that she can bypass paying the lawyer fees, since she wasn't notified of the time frame. It just seems really unfair . . . .

unfortunately when some one gets in that state they will attach Atty fees. She needs to pay what she can and work out a forebearance agreement withthe lender for the rest
