My girlfriends 40? what can i buy her?

any ideas what i can get her ?? we are going on holiday on her birthday to spain but dont know what else to do for her

Get real and buy her something decent that she wants and might actually use.

I would buy her something from harvey nicks.

A little top or something(keep the receipt) if she don't like it and takes it back she will at least know you care and tried to get her something nice from a top store.(100-200 quid will do nothing outrageous or to pricey)

Describe her to a store helper etc they are great at helping out.

You might actually get something she likes.

You can explain you got the urge to buy her the best croc top or wrap etc out there.

I have had HUGE success in this department.

How about perfume, if you know what one she likes, otherwise just ask her if there's anything special she would like, perhaps something she can keep. For me personally, a holiday to Spain would be enough of a present!

for many people spain would be enough, dont worry too much on what to get her she will like anything because thats how older women are she would like anything as long as YOU gave it to her

I'm in my late 40's and if my husband were taking me to Spain for my birthday, I would not expect anything else! But that is me. Your girlfriend might like a really romantic card, flowers, a gift card to a spa, facial, pedicure, jewelery, or electronics ie: Ipod, digital camera, lap-top. Or you can throw her a surprise birthday party with a bunch of people or just with a few close friends. Take her out for dinner to her favorite restaurant. Gosh I think I could keep on going. However I hope my ideas have helped you out. What ever you plan just remember it's all about "HER".  Good luck and have fun.

Take her on a clothes shopping spree in Spain...give her a "coupon" announcing this so you have an actual gift to hand her before hand

Well depending on how long she has been your girlfriend (and how sure you would be of the answer) you could always buy her an engagement ring and ask her to marry you.  

Do it at a decent restaurant on holiday in Spain? This would be very romantic and she gets a ring as well as a husband :)
