My girlfriends eyes are hurting because of her contacts?

My girlfriends contacts have been hurting her and making her eyes burn and water up, I told her to get a new kind of contact but she refuses and says she is fine, I am not sure if her eyes are in danger of having further eye problems in the future, any suggestions?

just tell her to take her contacts out and let her eyes breath for a day.  My contacts do the same thing sometimes.  If she leaves her contacts in too long the blood vessels will grow into her contact and she could go blind.

Most likely she needs to take them out and put them in the case with the cleaner to clean them. Make sure she waits at least 5 minutes for them to be clean, then she can put them back in. If it still continues tell your eye doctor because it could be the brand of contacts. Her eye might not be able to adjust to the brand of contacts that you have.
