My goldfish has a swollen stomach what could this be?? What do I do?

If it's not pregnant then it has an internal bacteria problem, it causes them to swell.  Interpet do a got anti internal bacteria treatment that works very well this will work, also try giving your fish live food and frozen bloodworm instead of just flake food, this will help too

Are his scales sticking out like a pinecone? That would be dropsy and you need medicine ASAP. Mardel Maracyn Two is what I would recommend. If you have other fish int he tank you might want to isolate this fish. Do you have an infirmary tank? That would be best. But like the others said if it's a fancy like a fantail or ryukin they are egg shaped by nature.
