Well, it could be pregnant, if it, you can remove it remove the eggs from the stomach, check if it is pregnant with this you-tube video, search for "goldfish hand spawning" , or take your goldfish to the nearest pet shop.

What size is your Tank? Goldfish, if kept in too small a space can become stunted, which means the body stops growing, but the internal organs continue to grow. if your tank is at the very least 10 gallons its probably not that. and you have a fat, healthy goldfish.

As per being pregnant, it is  very rare in the home aquarium. without a male present, impossible.

Hi there,

It could be eggs - Goldfish will generally only come into season if the waters is just right and the season is right too.

A lot of your goldfish species can be naturally quite well rounded, some, like Ryukins, butterfly tails etc can look like swimming golf balls.

However if its puffed up quite quickly/recently it may be an intestinal parasite, bloat (feed him a chopped up frozen pea to help him clear his system out) or Dropsy (You'll know its dropsy if his scales are jutting out like a pinecone - and if your SURE its this, then you'll need to medicate him and make sure your water parameters are okay -its generally triggered by bad water- and hopefully he'll be okay. )

If it doesnt seem like these but your still worried, take a sample (about half a cup) of your tankwater down to your local aquarium store and ask them to test it for you for Ph, ammonia and nitrate just to make sure nothing in the water is upsetting him.

P.S Try not to move him from his tank. This can stress him out more than its worth. Go with the water testing and try and take a photo of him to the fish shop/ vet if necessary.

whats its age?

females always (after maturity) have eggs in their stomach so if its a bit fatter than before maybe it got mature or its just healthy but dont feed it too much

it wont lay eggs until u hv a male in the tank

Looolz, do not contact a vet and it is not ill. Goldfish suppose to have fat bellies and it is not pregnant. It is unhealthy if your goldfish is skinny. Keep it on like that and make sure the water is cold.

It depends on which breed of goldfish you have.  Some don't grow so long but get super round and fat.  Research the typr of fish you have and you may find this is totally normal.

i really want to help u it looks quite serious take the fish to the vet or maybe ask a friend to see it because we know the problem but we cant see her xxxxxxooooooooooooooxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
