She has pica - that's when someone eats stuff like that b/c there is something missing in their diet...

its how kids learn through their five senses ...

if they touch ,smell ,look and feel things of course they will taste them ...my kids did it all ,dirt ,licked concrete ,etc... no matter what it doesnt have to be a sign of food issues or medical problems ...they may be just inquisitive .....my son was a total chub and revolting to boot ...when he was younger he'd toddle around the garden sampling grass ,flowers,he even ate dog poo to see what it was [he regretted it straight away]

they are just curious and unlike us they dont understand one or two senses is enough ....we would touch and maybe smell grass ,sadly they would eat it .....i am sure shes fine ,but if she does it excesively and you cant seem to stop her tasting everything get her checked up [if anything to keep an eye on how much it may affect her ]

but i was told they should eat half their weight in dirt by the age of 1 anyway lol

Give her good  food like gelatin or blueberries pancakes when her tummy is full she wouldn't do that again.
