  1. When I got a little older than I was when my grandfather died I started to see him in myself a bit - I started to be interested in the same things and share the same attitudes (he died when I was quite young).

Perhaps the same is happening to you?

  2. It may be because the older we get, the more we respect and miss our parents and grandparents.

    My thoughts anyway!!

  3. The finality of death is sometimes overwhelming.  My grandpa died eight years ago and I found myself thinking about him last night.  My dad was in the military and so we never really lived close to him because of my dad's job but we got there when we could.  He was really  great guy and I learned so much from thim- even though I only got to see him maybe once a year.

If you were close to your grandpa, then you know that no one can ever replace him in your heart.  I really wish that I would have gotten to know my other grandpa the way I got to know my  mom's dad, but my paternal grandfather died before I was born.

Treasure and cherish the good times you had with him,  because no one can ever take those from you.  Even though your grandfather died a long long time ago, you still have my condolences- but remember, there are plenty of good times ahead.

  4. could be close to the day he died......i get that to with my dad 36 yrs ago...
