  1. if an insurance company issues a check, they definately have some type of documentation.  companies just don't go around issuing checks for no reason  lol.  you can try to contact them, but be aware that they are only able to speak to whomever owned the policy.

  2. I don't know all of the ins and outs of what you are trying to figure out but something sounds fishy.

Somebody such as you needs to spend some serious phone time in order to get to the bottom of this. A company is not going to send 200 or so for no reason. No paperwork? The company would have all of the paperwork in the world handy if asked.

64 years? Gut feeling it is some sort of scam.

  3. This might have been $100 in "the old days" plus interest....

He needs to be able to document his actions......maybe he has some old records for the transaction.

  4. I would take them to court and file a  lawsuit.

  5. He is very fortunate to get  the $226. That might be a lot more than he  had coming. Unless he can prove otherwise.

The key is providing PROOF he should have got more.

  6. its just a bunch of c**p... i mean cmon how else are they gonna make money?

and think how much $226.00 was 64 yrs ago...

  7. ask for any and all maturity records on this endowment.  you are entitled to them and you then can have it looked into by a lawyer or someone similar.

  8. Copy the paper work and send it registered mail

to the insurance co.NATURALY.the insurance co.don.t have the paper work,it would cost them

    thousands of dollars.
