  1. 2nd cousin

  2. son

  3. No, no, no...they would only be second cousins if they were in the same generation.  For example, if your grandfather's brother's son had a son, THEN you would be second cousins.

Look at the table at the link.  You first have to work out your common ancestor.  In your case it is your great grandfather - you are his great grandchild and the other person (your grandfather's brother's son) is his grandchild.  Match up these on the table and you find you are FIRST COUSINS, ONCE REMOVED.  The "once removed" refers to the fact that you are not part of the same generation as the other person - they are on the same level as your father.

  4. He would be a 2nd cousin.

  5. First cousin once removed.

  6. Your grandfather's brother is your dad's (or mom's) uncle, and your dad's (or mom's) uncle's son would be your dad's (or mom's) 1st Cousin - which would make him your 1st cousin once removed, not your 2nd cousin. Your 2nd cousin would be your grandfathers brother's son's son (or daughter). LOL

There ya go - clear as mud

Now if your question was "My mom or dad's cousin - What relation is he to me?  I would have answered - 1st cousin once removed. - Have a nice day!

  7. Batdog and Adair are right. Everyone else who has answered so far is wrong.

The son (Call him "Bruce") is your father or mother's first cousin. That makes him your first cousin ONCE removed, because your parents are ONE generation removed from you.

When (if) Bruce has children, those children willl be your second cousins. Second cousins are children of first cousins.

When (if) you and Bruce have children, those children will be third cousins, and so on.

  8. ur kinda uncle ur dad's cousin

  9. He would be your 2nd cousin. Your grandpa's brother is your dads uncle, so therefore his son would be your dads cousin. which makes him your 2nd cousin! :)

  10. he is your uncle...
