My grandma wants to get me a new car. I currently have a 1995 Plymouth Neon, which I hate. It runs great and everything has been fixed in it, and has low milage. But its time to get a new car. She said she found a 2002 Hyundai Accent. Its really cheap and has 118,00 miles on it. She bought a used Chevy Blazer from the same place with high milage and she loves it. It runs great. I wanted to see if it is worth me buying it with that high of milage. Alot of ppl that I talked to said they are great cars, but I want more opinions.

Also, its stick, is stick really hard to drive?

  1. cool granny...thats nice

  2. omfg 118000 miles thats bad try finding 1 for at least 70-80 thosand miles.

  3. its a free car, girl!!

  4. i had one as a matter of fact Ive had two loved them both dependable and great milage

  5. My husband has a 2003 Hyundai Accent and he loves it.  We've had 1 minor problem with it since we bought it.  It's also a "stick" and is excellent on gas.  As for the mileage, I don't know... I'm always a little cautious about driving cars with high mileage but that doesn't mean that it's not reliable.  Good luck!

  6. No. My husband is a mechanic and said he works on them all the time.  He says they are pieces of sh1++.  (his words)

The only way it would be a good idea is if they had the warantee. This person probably is selling b/c the warantee is up (100,000 miles)

  7. Hyundai's are throw away cars.  I have an accent and it gets me from point a to point b.  I have not had any problems with it 60k miles right now.  I'm going to run it into the ground and then get a new one.  If she wants a car for a while and then trade it in I would avoid the hyundai because it doesn't have any trade in value.  If she plans to drive it till it's dead then go for it.  It's a really basic car and feels cheap but for me I don't care because we have a second nice car.  My car is just to get to work and was the cheapest one on the lot.  One perk to the car is I get 32 miles to the gallon which is good.

  8. make sure it isnt a 2003-2004 because the entire race of 03-04's are complete gas guzzlers. The 03-4 accent was named worst car of the year fromi think it was 72 magazines, so i would feel nervous driving one of em. if its free then takke it but i dunno man...

  9. Stick will be easy to drive, but I would try to find something else unless this car is practically free.  Hyundai's are middle-of-the-road when it comes to reliability, and they don't hold value at all.  It'll sure be better than the Neon, but probably not worth your time.

    Good Luck!

  10. yes it is a decent car , very reliable, will last a long time :)

I apologies but can someone answer my question if you know anything about Torrents http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  11. let her kid, your lucky to have such good family. Hyundai's usually have a good warranty.

  12. Yeah, I read that Hyundai's are very good cars. Though 118,000 is very high mileage. you should investigate how many more good miles you have left to drive it.

  13. It's a very good starter car for the buck!! and it's Free!!
