  1. ... not as strange as one would think -- often when children are born to teenage parents, it's the teenager's parents who end up raising them (and they become the equivalent of the newborn's parents) ... sometimes they go as far adopting these newborns as their own.

Yeah - it certainly complicates the branches in the family-tree, don't it??

  2. when my mother died i took over and raised my neice. i get mother's day cards and calls from her. sometimes when the mother just isn't able you have to consider what's best for the child you already love and i'm glad someone steped up to the plate .

  3. its not strange at all....i was adopted...by my grandparents as my bmum didnt want me but my dad did so he asked his parents to adopt me and they did so my not only were they my grandparents but they were my parents(they passed away 4 years ago)and my dad not only was my dad but was also my brother(he got killed when i was 9)and my aunties and uncles are also my brothers and sisters.

  4. Happens all the time.

My friend in H.S. was adopted by her sister, her mother felt she was too old and just didn't want her.

Also another friend of mine and ter twin were placed in a orphanage 33 years ago. 6 months later  their bio-aunt found out and went and got time and raised them.

Then there's the G-mas who have babies just dropped off and the mom's disappear for months  or forever.  Very sad.

  5. Not really, where I come from alot of mothers put the pressure on their mother and grandmothers always wind up raising their kids children.

  6. whats also strange is that my mother isn't even on my legal birth certificate.

  7. It would only be strange if your gramma was your mother's sister and there was no adoption involved.
