My grandmother wants to know if my brother is g*y. Do I tell her?

She is family, but I don't know if she has any right to ask. What do you think? In her defense she does get confused a lot of the time, because her foot was amputated (diabetes). I can't decide if this is too forward of her, or if I can distact her by buying her Columbo on DVD.

If he is:

1) Definitely let him know she asked so she doesn't surprise him with the question.

2) It's up to you whether you decide to break the news or not (I'd suggest she ask him). How do you think she will react? If you do give her an answer, be sure to frame it supportively.

depends if you love the old gal or not. some grannys are so kool. Its your brothers choice to tell anyone, you should respect his privacy (Im sure you do but you think you also respect your grandmother), but your brother has a hard enough time as it is if hes reluctant to admit it, so tell him she wants to know but tell him you will not say anything until he's ready.

my grandma asked about my older sister being g*y and I flat out said yep. and all was well she just said "oh I thought so, that explains a lot" so really I don't think it would be a big deal, usually when you lie about it for a long time makes it a much larger deal.
