  1. Technically, as long as you are at least an eighth Native American, then you are considered Native American.

  2. That would make you 1/4 th cherokee. My great grandmother was 100% cherokee, making me 1/8 th. and my son & daughter 1/16 th.

  3. Normally the guide is if you are 25 percent you can have a standing in a tribe.  You will need to check with your specific tribe.

  4. you are definately indian. i am part cherokee as well and very proud to be. you may be eligible for benefits. check into it.

  5. yeah, you are totally indian

  6. If your grandma was 100% that makes your dad 50% and you 25%.  For verification you can check the Indian Roll that was maintained by the Bureau of Indian Affairs.  try Google or Vivisimo.  You may need to check with the Department of the Interior, they managed the BIA.

  7. If your Dad's mother was/is 100 % Cherokee Indian and so is/ was her husband then your Dad is 100% Cherokee too. If your Mom as well as your Dad are both Cherokee then you will be 100& too.  Now if anyone I just mentioned was not of Indian decent then that would change things some what. If your Dad is full-blooded and his Dad was full-blooded Cherokee as well as your Dad's Mom, then your Dad is full-blooded Cherokee. Now if your Dad married say a Blackfoot or Crow or Hopi then you would be full-blooded Indian; but, you also would be half Cherokee/half Crow or other tribe as well. If your Mom is white then you are half Indian and half anglo(white). I am 1/25 Cherokee Indian. I gather you need to know so you can have certain benifits or something along that line;or you are just imnterested in your heritage. You might want to check out in Oklahoma where the Trail of Tears ended to see if there is any ancestory info. there or with the Cherokee's in the mountians in North Carolina.

  8. you'd be 1/4 indian if your grandfather and father were caucasian, 1/2 if your grandfather was indian and your father was caucasian, and you would be full if both your granfather and father were indian.

  9. yes, your dad was 1/2 cherokee and you are 1/4 cherokee.
