  1. not automatically, its worth trying though as india is still part of the commonwealth

  2. TO ZOE DOT

he said Scottish!! nae British we are no the same as the English.

howerver  zoe dot may be right .  you need to ask immigration to be sure. one of my friends has done what you want to with only grand parents

  3. Your Great Grandfather has no baring whatsoever on your current passport status.

If that was the case, I would have passports from, at the very least, 8 countries.

In order to get a UK passport, YOU MUST BECOME A UK CITIZEN.

This is universally true with every country throughout the world.

However, in the case of USA and UK citizens, becoming a citizen of another country, while they must renounce their citizenship to either of those two countries, those countries will not recognize that and thus, those individuals will have duel citizenship.

Personally, I think passports are stupid and one day the whole world will be like Europe, free to travel anywhere at will.

  4. You can apply for an ancestral visa which allows you to work or study for up to 4 years. After which you have the option to apply for a British Nationality. If you have been there legally for 5 years already they may waive some of the other restrictions. Wouldn't hurt to check with British Immigration Department???

  5. No. You do not even qualify for any privledges due the Scot being your great grandfather (if it was your grandparent you could have applied for a Ancestry visa if you had citizenship of a country that was part of the Commonwealth). You've been studying in the UK for five years so see if you can met the requirements for Indefinate Leave to Remain visa and then apply for citizenship after you've held that for one year.

Usually to qualify for citizenship via descent it goes through the parents, grandparents only if the parents were in service to The Crown at the time of birth.

I'm afraid you're in the same boat as every other immigrant to the UK.

  6. No you have not been studying dont bloody lie! Even if your Grandfather was a Scotsman why should that give you the right to live here? Parks full time to shut the gates

  7. Bet you can get a passport, house, benefits, free national health, education and much, much more, everyone else does!

  8. NO STAY IN INDIA WE HAVE enough Indian's in this country before long we will end up sinking from the emigrants

  9. Too many generations back to make you eligible.

Go home, you are not a national of this country.

  10. i don't think so.  i think you have to have british parents on both sides.  inquire though.
