My green card expires in 2012. Can I renew it this year, or do I have to wait a couple more years?

I'm living in the United States, and I need to know, because I got a name change, and that will cost me $370 to change that, and then to renew my card, another $300-400. I would prefer to just change my name on the card when I renew it, and if I can renew my card to expire ten years from 2008, that would be amazing.

Ask the immigration office about that. Normally you have enough time for that until 2012, but about changing name, so perhaps you can get a new one. By the way the prices are very high right now and also the waiting time.
