Question:

My green iguana isnt drinking??

i have a 2 foot green iguana and a huge cage for him but my problem is idk if he is getn enough water or not i have a huge water pan in there for him to soak in and drink out of but he never does and im worried he isnt getn the amount of water he needs

  1. They like to slither around and slurp the moisture on leaves and fruits. No need to worry about him drinking.


  2. is the viv quite humid cause they can drink the condensation of leaves and the sides

    i would worry just yet unless its showing signs of dehydration  

  3. He may be drinking when you don't see him.

    If you are really concerned, offer him fruits and veggies. That will give him water in another way.

  4. Hopefully you have a drinking dish and a poo dish separately.

    It can be sometimes hard to know if you're ig is getting any water intake or not, that is why it is best to spray/mist there food, add shaved frozen watermelon to the food will help.

    Occasionally give the fruits that have the water intake, canalop, honeydew. Small amounts of zucchini, and cucumber, occasionally. An occasional treat of water-soaked 12 grain bread may be given.

    You ig may be drinking while taking his bath also.

    If you have fake silk leaves in his enclosure, when you spray/mist his enclosure he may l**k water off the leaves.
