Question:

My groin hurts when I walk

Sometimes when I walk, my groin will start to hurt on my right side. Usually occurs while taking a step with my right leg when it hits the floor.

I'm totally confused as to why this happens. I don't know what a good solution would be, but does anyone have any ideas or what?

Thanks,

Brandon

  1. Pains occurring in this area come from the hip joint. If you had any recent injury, the hip is one place one usually missed by drs. You have to have an xray of the hip joint

  2. It hurts when you walk, the answer is easy, DON'T walk, and it won't hurt.

  3. Go to an MD as soon as possible. Stay in bed as much as possible until then.

  4. You have pulled or strained a muscle in your groin. Keep walking but do not over do it. Put some form of heat to the area with HW bottle or similar. It will go in time but it could be a few days or a week or so.

  5. Hmm, it sounds like you might have Osteitis pubis. I had that a few years ago. The cause of osteitis pubis is excessive physical strain on the pubic bone, usually caused by the increasing rigorous demands of competitive sport, particularly football. The only way i fixed it was going to see my doc. He gave me shots of steroids in my groin and after a few days it was strong again. Just go see you're doc. It might be just a pulled muscle.

    hope i have helped

  6. Are you a runner?  You could have a stress fracture in you hip.  My groin hurt a lot when I walked, and I found out that I had a stress fracture in my hip.
