My Yahoo group was deleted and I was wondering if it was possible to see who/how it was deleted. Also, is it possible to recreate the group with all the data the group had ie. all the members who were already a part of the group.

  1. If your group got deleted it could mean alot of things. Some one reported you for breaking the TOS rules and once that is done you have lost everything from all your members to all data.  You can make the same name you had for the group..just by adding a few of these-->  _ -  Now when you use to get the posting from the members in your former group just invite them to your new group again. But be very careful who you have for your mod or help for your group so it doesn't happen again. You may of not felt you broke any rules of yahoo but who every had the group shut down did..yahoo will never tell you the reason why or who told them..

  2. It was probably the group's moderator/creator who cancelled/deleted the group.  You can re-create a similar group, possibly with a slightly different name, or the name with a number, etc., but if you weren't the moderator, you wouldn't be able pick up where the original group left off with all the same members and message boards, etc.  Had there been discussion about closing down the group, you might have been able to work something out with the previous moderator, but apparently that wasn't the case.

  3. it's never happened to me, and through reading some say when mailing Yahoo at times they do say the reason why a group was deleted and some claim Yahoo has reinstaed some deleted groups.

generally speaking, however and why a group was deleted, it's gone for good.

Help Form- never hurts to ask

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

when creating a group- programs like group fetch or pgoffline will back up a group, to always have a copy of what 'could' be lost or deleted.

  4. To the best of my knowledge there is no way of knowing,  unless it violated the TOS and was deleted by Yahoo it would have been deleted by the owner.  All the info is history andcannot be retrieved..  If you were a moderator and received and kept notices of new members you could start  a similiar group and contact them.
