My guinea has white ooze in her eye PLEASE HELP ME ! NOW?

my guinea pig started scraching and then when she was done scraching I saw some white ooze under her eyes.

She is fine right now but I am still a little bit worried about her.

SO PLEASE HELP ME !

  1. White eye discharge usually means an eye infection.  The vet can give you antibiotic drops or ointment to put in her eye for a week or two that will clear it right up!


  2. Try putting a warm wash cloth on her eyes.   If that doesn't do it by the next day take her to the vet!

  3. Milky white discharge from the eyes is normal, as it is how they clean their faces.

    As long as it looks like that, it's fine.  If any crust develops, take her to a vet as she could have an infection.  If she is scratching excessively, she may also have mange mites and/or lice.

  4. wipe her eye with damp cotton wool ball. Dont push too hard. She has probably just got hay in she will be fine. If it isnt any better in a few days take her tot he vets.
