My guinea pig, needs some goodies, HELP please!?

Question

I have been a bad mommy to him, Now it's time for me to step up for him.

His name is toby, he is black and is still small(a year)

I am already asking for stuff for a hutch for him for my birthday,

I'm going to build it.

Any other suggestions?

he has a igloo and water bottle thats about it.

Back to the basics.

PLEASE, this will make him super happy.

he needs a food dish and a few more toys. i would recommend toys that he can hide in because that is what guinea pigs like to do.

Toys & Chewing

Because guinea pigs cannot use their front feet to “hold” toys, almost all guinea pig toys are chew toys. And, as a guinea pig’s front teeth continually grow throughout its life, they require plenty of toys for chewing. Guinea pigs usually prefer harder pieces of wood, but you may need to experiment to find out what your pet prefers. Colorful wood parrot chew toys are ideal.

Some guinea pigs like to play with colorful plastic balls designed for cats. They will push these around and may even carry them in their teeth. If you offer one of these plastic balls, watch your pet carefully. If he starts to chew on the ball or break pieces off of it, you will need to remove it.

Because guinea pigs are nervous by nature, tubes and hideaways provide comfortable, safe places to hide or sleep. If made of cardboard or wood, they also provide a safe outlet for chewing.

You will find wheels and running balls made for guinea pigs. If you buy one of these, make sure that it is big enough for an “adult” guinea pig to fit inside.

TREATS

Guinea pigs love treats This is an excellent way to bond with your new pet. Readily available treats include honey sticks, yogurt drops, dried fruit & veggie mixes, flavored crunchy sticks and seed mixes.

Pigs also love fresh fruits and vegetables such as apples, carrots broccoli and dandelion greens (no pesticides please). Fresh foods should be fed only in small amounts because too much can cause stomach upset and diarrhea.

Remember, treats must not replace regular food. They are fun to feed, but too many can cause your guinea pig to get fat and become ill. Treat foods should make up no more than 10% of the diet.

all guinea pigs love to eat and chew, so anything like that will work, just make sure it isnt bad for him. fruits and veggies are favorites too. but, do not only give him lettuce. they like it, but they cannot survive on just that. it is 98% water, with very little nutrients, so, put that with his other food. with the guinea pigs i had, i made a cage where you could set it on the grass, and the grass could come through the bottom. they loved that. and, you could get him a friend too... that little hutch would make a good nest thing for a new one if you got a girl, but if you do decide to have baby pigs, seperate the dad for a while... look it up on the internet too. if the mother feels threatened by anything, she may eat the babies, to protect them... i know, it is backward, but that is what they do. same goes with rabbits... and, when in doubt about anything, either ask an owner, a vet, or look it up on the internet for. dont risk the life of the animal for your ignorance. anything chewable (toys) that you may give him, make sure it wont hurt him, like with paint, or fumes, or anything like that. if you are concerned about him chewing all the time, it wont hurt anything, he just has to keep his teeth shorter by chewing. if he doesnt, it could cause health problems. if his teeth start to get really long, it may prevent him from eating, and, in that case, you should take him to the vet and see if they can clip his teeth where he can eat. so, just keep an eye on his teeth.
