Question:

My guinea pig ate paper?

Okay..my guinea pig ate some paper. I'm worried cuz i dont know iff its healthy for guinea pigs to eat paper? What if guinea pigs do eat a little paper? Will anything happen? He didnt eat much. Thank you :D

  1. Your Guinea Pigs should be safe if the paper was blank (no ink, scents, chemicals, paint)

    Rodents chew papers every time...it is normal.

    Just don't let it eat too much, because paper is a bit difficult to digest.

    If he didn't eat much, then he is fine.

    Don't worry, and be careful.

    Someone mentioned that they use newspapers...newspapers are safe if they are the recyclable newspaper.

  2. hi angie. i studied animal care at my vocational school my junior and senior year of highschoo and we had guinea pigs. as long as they do not eat a large quantity of it and it didnt have colored ink on it, it shouldnt bother them. however, if your guinea pig does start to experiance complications, i would definately get it checked over by your veterinarian immediately. hope this helps!

  3. She'll be fine. My guinea pig nibbles on paper from time to time.

    Just make sure there's no ink on it.

  4. Paper is fine for guinea pigs to nibble on. I used to have a guinea pig and he loved to nibble on wood so if you have any scraps of wood, you can put it in their cage and see if they like it.

  7. It'll have no effect on the guinea pig... AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T HAVE INK ON IT. U can even use it as bedding!

  8. Your piggie will be fine, paper won't harm him. Just don;t feed it too him on a regular basis. We line our guinea pigs cage with newspaper and they chews on it all the time, they are both very healthy and it hasn;t affceted them at all. As long as you don;t purposely feed your guinea pig paper, as its not exactly food, he'll be fine.  

  9. As long as the paper wasn't colored, or scented and didn't have any ink on it he should be fine. a little paper shouldn't hurt.
