  1. The more you handle a aniamly the better it will respond to you

  2. don't be scared. guinea pigs don't bite hard annnnd:

you jerk! lozer. only people with no hearts would eat something as cute and innocent as a guinea pig! "bite into it first'? yeah right!

  3. Hold it properly so it's comfortable.

Remember, the way you treat others, the way they treat you back.

  4. Guinea pigs are so placid that they never bite unprovoked.

The people that it bit could have been hurting it, such as pulling it's fur or poking it.

They could also have been holding it wrong. The right way to hold a guinea pig is with one hand under its bum and the other curled over its back, with its face against your chest.

Or if they were truly stupid they might have shoved their finger in the poor animal's mouth.

Either way, guinea pig bites do not hurt, it's like a half-hearted pinch.

Do not fear your guinea pig, chances are it is now terrified of you are your friends. Pick it up securely and place it against your chest like a mention above. Stroke the back of its neck and give it some fresh food, such as carrot or celery.

Remember, guinea pigs are delicate little animals and even though you aren't doing it on purpose, you may seriously hurt them.

If you were cornered by a giant that picked you up by your legs and poked at you, you'd fight back, wouldn't you? That's how the guinea pig sees it. Just put yourself in his shoes.. er paws.

Another reason your guinea pig is biting, if it is unprovoked, could be teething problems. Guinea pig front teeth continuously grow, and they must wear them down by gnawing on fresh food and objects. If it's teeth have become too overgrown, and are starting to hurt (which can be very painful), it would be trying to wear them down on anything - including hands. If they are overgrown, the only way to treat it is by taking it to the vet and having them filed down.

  6. That happend to my step sister you have to pick him up were he cant get your hands  (Obviously) but you have to tell your friends how to hold him proprerly to!  also you could ask a vet its contusoulsy doing it.

    GOOD LUCK

  7. Well, why did it bite those people? Did you show them how to hold it properly (so that it isn't in pain, uncomfortable, and is fully supported)? Did they stick their fingers near its mouth for fun? Poke it? Most guinea pigs are very mild. It's not good if you're scared of your own pet.

  8. Mine bites out of excitment. Tap his nose firmly and say no if he does bite u clean it with peroxide.... (frown)
