My guinea pig just died?

Question

im 19 and i've always had pets but theyv never died before, my guinea pig i found dead in his cage tonight and i don't understand why because he was young and the guinea pig who he lived wiv is fine. i'm really upset and confused. i dont no how to cope. please help me someone.

I wouldn't reccomend getting your piggy an autopsy because his small body doesn't need that. But definatly take your other piggy to the vet to make sure he is OK. I'm sorry your piggy has died, I don't know how I will cope when I lose my piggy. But make sure to give your remaining piggy lots of hugs and support because he will surely be sad too. But you have each other for hugs and comfort!

I have found this cute website that does personalised piggy statues,I am thinking of getting on for my current piggy.

It might be nice to get one of these, they can even put your piggys name on it, and make it the same colours as he was. I think they're nice. You could get the one with two piggies on it!

edit: I forgot to say it's very unlikely that one piggy would kill the other without you noticing that their relationship was not going well, so don't think that.

it was just his time i guess but ALWAYS! Carry the memmory's of your piggy in your heart forever and always, take a journey back to the good times every now and again. he is in piggy heaven now where the fun and happiness is endless.

first of all i am sorry for your quinea pig . i was crying allot when i was 8 y old and my quinea pig Goofy died.

just a weird question you say u r 19 and had many pets and none ever died . before. what kinds of pets did you have? parrots?turtles ?

cant think of many pet animals that live more than 10 --15 years.

don't be upset the deaths of our pets when we r young makes us more prepared for the deaths of our loved ones when we get older, even prepares us for our own deaths. nothing lives for ever. death always hurts but life is worth nothing if death did not exist. love your pets make their life happy and when they die feel comfort in the fact that they lived a happy life because of you

two ginny pigs lived together did u know the gender of each one of them? if both girls thel kill eachother if both boys theyl kill each other but if their the differnt gender they wont hurt each other they will probly mate. gunie pigs can have disseses hamsters can have highblood preshure or  astma or evena stroke depeds were the hamster sleeps eats or drinks.

I'm 17, 18 in a few weeks, I've had my current guinea pig for a good 3years. She's amazing! couldn't imagine life without her, but you see Guinea Pigs are very prone to disease/illness, they can die without warning, as I know, I've had 3 guinea pigs die in the past 4years. It's heartbreaking but you must realise that with guinea pigs there's no garuntee(sp) on them living for their full 7/9year life expectancy. Sorry to hear this, my favourie little guinea pig died at 4years old, and i'm still devestated, it happened over a year ago now.

I'm sorry about your guinea pig.  They are fragile creatures and very good at hiding their illnesses, so don't feel bad that you didn't notice something was wrong.

You may want to have a necropsy done at the vets to know what happened and make sure your other guinea pig isn't also in danger.
