My guinea pig. . . .?

my guinea pig , lily .. i have had her for about 8 months now and she is getting a bit big .. we have a normal size cage that we got but she seems 2 b getting bigger by the day!!lol we may get a biger cage for her but we have no room to fit a large cage ! we were going to get her a hutch but thats a definate no because we have a labrador in the back garden ! plzzz help!!

I have had many guinea pigs so i can understand

wat you need to do is put her on a diet

give her carrots and lettuce

and only give 1/4 cup of her normal food a day

and if it runs out o well

Are you over-feeding it?  Maybe don't give it as much food as usual and maybe find a new place in the house for your guinea pig if you get a bigger cage.

You can not stop a guinea pig from growing. They stop growing when they are about a year in a half old no matter what. Have you considered getting a top story for her cage? I have one for my guinea pigs cage and it gives them more room. As for a hutch it is almost impossible for dogs to get in the hutch but I do not recommend leaving it outside because the guinea pig could die of heatstroke, get killed by a wild animal, etc. Good luck!!

Well may guinea pig is huge and i have only had him for about 8 months as well haven't you got a shed you could put the hutch in so it's away from the dog.

You will need to get a bigger cage, its not fair to keep her in a small one. For one her cage will start to smell because she will be constantly living in her own mess. Look at it this way, it like you having to eat sleep and p**p in your bedroom. Not nice, so you need to give her a bigger cage or need to rehome her and give her to someone who will be able to get her a bigger cage.

Take a look at this site, its about c&c cages, cage syou build yourself and you can build them upwards with lots of floors rather than needed lots of floor space for a cage.

Please get her a bigger cage, remember its botu doign whats best for her, not whats bets for you, if you don;t have room for a big cage, make room for one.

gps do grow like alot of pets, your mum and dad should of researched this more, take a look at free ads on the internet and the paper youll be surprised what you can pick up.

Do you have a shed or a old wendy house you could convert into a piggy home? If you cant house your pet and the Labrador is a big threat then you probably should home him somewhere that hes safe im sorry to say.

Your guinea pig will continue to grow for only about another 4 months, at which time you can slaughter and enjoy it with your family.  I've linked a site below with recipes.
