My guinea pigs wheek when its not tea time!?

its every time i open the fridge theyre out and i think its cute but i have one strict rule with them they only get fresh fruit and veg when its tea time which is about 6 oclock! so howcan i stop this i dont want to move them but i dont wantthem thinking if they wheek it doesnt work because it does and they remind me to feed them!

Guinea pigs have to eat all the time, i forget what its called, but there's a name for that behavior, so when there hungry, there hungry. my guinea loves to eat a lot, he tries to get the littlest bit of food, and tips his bowl.

Theres not much you can do to stop them. Guinea Pigs wheek to you when they are happy and they want to get your attention. Yes they do do it when they want food, but there are many neglected, abused guinea pigs out there that do not wheek when their owner passes their cage- you should feel lucky that they love you so much!

Sounds like they are in the right place if they do remind you to feed them each night- I wouldnt move the cage. They may learn in time that they only get fed at a certain time- they probably know it already and theyre hoping for some extra attention, or maybe that if theyre extra charming they may get an extra treat!

Wheeeeking doesn't Just mean that they want veggies They might want more hay or pellets or fresh grass. My piggies started squealing  for hay. At first I was like its not even CLOSE to veggie time so I gave them more hay and they kept quiet.They need to have food at all times too. Soooo try giving them more hay and pellets when they squeal. Maybe thats what they want.
